TO DYE FOR


In San Francisco where many fine Asian things are happening, the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, offers a wonderful textile and costume exhibit with pieces from Asia, Africa and the Americas.

TO DYE FOR: A WORLD SATURATED IN COLOR

This exhibit highlights objects from diverse cultures and historical periods: a pre-Hispanic Peruvian tie-dyed mantle, a 15th/17th century paste-resist Mongolian felt rug, early 20th century women’s skirts from Sarawak and Indian trade clothes.
