If you are a rock person like I am ……….

Born 1936 in Korea, Lee Ufan moved to Yokohama, Japan in 1956, and studied philosophy. Taught at the Tama Art University in Tokyo, and now lives in Kamakura. Lee Ufan is a painter, sculptor, writer and philosopher who works in Korea, Japan and France. He is represented in major international museums (MoMa, Centre Georges Pompidou, the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo). He is a well-known proponent of the avant-garde Mono-ha (Object School) group, Japan’s first contemporary art movement to gain international attention.

What attracted my attention are the rocks and iron, natural and common materials Lee Ufan uses to create spaces that not only show the relationship between things, concepts and experiences but also invite one to meditate.
