Japanese vessels shown by Joan B. Mirviss dating from the 15th to the 21st century and featured in her exhibit THE ART OF THE VESSEL.

When in New York visit the  ASIA SOCIETY’S  BUDDHIST ART OF MYANMAR showing some seventy truly spectacular pieces from the 5th to the 20th century, many from temples in Burma, leaving Burma for the first time.

A photographer I have admired for a long time, Marc Ribaud, born 1923  has a show at he Rubin Museum with most photographs taken between  1950s to 1970s in countries before tourists could travel there- the Road to Khyber, Afghanistan; early photographs of Beijing; Orissa, Puri and Konark  in India; Istanbul. Joining the photo agency of Magnum in 1952 he was mentored by Robert Capa and Henry Cartier-Bresson.
